Career Change Cycle Stage 6: Success - Getting and Keeping the New Job
As strange as it might sound, obtaining a new job is a major goal reached, but a second one should also be to do what is needed in order to keep it. In the euphoria of starting a new job we often lose sight of the fact that there are many things we must do to ensure on-the-job success.
You must exhibit appropriate and effective workplace behaviors and communication skills. You should actively prepare for performance reviews. You should constantly have your sights set on continuing education opportunities whether for your current job or the next ones. Paying attention to and acting on these things will ensure that you develop career/life satisfaction and resiliency on the job.
