Job Search Strategies & Techniques

Unless otherwise noted, all workshops will be at the Center. Your registration is complete upon the receipt of payment to the Center for Life Decisions, 3121 East Madison, Suite 209, Seattle, WA 98112. Timely payment is the only way to guarantee your registration and space for your desired workshop(s) and avoid last minute cancellations of workshops.

Online Career Search Support

Would you like to receive online assistance regarding your job
search transition? Twice weekly ½ hour responses will be sent
to you of your and other subscriber job/career search questions.

Once subscribed you’ll be on the list to receive these responses
on Wednesdays and Fridays to the questions you and other
subscribers raise.

To subscribe merely send the product order information
requested online so we can process your account with us. Or,
send a check along with your e-mail address to: The Center For
Life Decisions at 3121 East Madison Street, Suite 209, Seattle,
WA, 98112.

Fee: $50 per month for twice weekly, ½ hour reports sent to you via e-mail.
$10 per report for an e-mail print out of back issues.
$90 to obtain a month’s worth of 8 reports mailed, once per month.

Job Search Support Group - FREE

This support group assists you with two primary concerns of every job seeker: practical and successful job search strategies and techniques as well as emotional support and encouragement during the highs and lows encountered when seeking employment.

The support group is most effective providing support around three issues:

Networking for information, job leads and interviews,
Resume preparation and
Practice interviewing.

At each session participants are encouraged to bring at least one question around which the group can brainstorm and provide ideas that might help answer that question. The ideas, strategies, and techniques offered are only suggestions. Participants need not feel obligated to carry through on any or all of them. The suggestions are meant to provide each with a richer range of resources and choices for conducting your job search than would be available on your own, as well as increasing the probability of your job search success, in as short a time as possible.

The group provides a framework for accountability/personal responsibility - to keep you surely on the path leading toward obtaining that next job.

HOW TO GET TO THE UPTOWN NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER
The Center is in Uptown Queen Anne at the southeast corner of Roy St. and Warren Ave. The street address is 157 Roy St. There is a sign at the corner that says 157 Roy St. in big letters and Uptown Neighborhood Center in small letters.

By bus:

Metro routes 1, 2, 8, 13, 15, 18, and 74.

By monorail:

Take the monorail from Westlake Center (downtown) to Seattle Center. Walk to the Northwest corner of the Seattle Center campus. Mercer Street is at the edge of campus. Walk one block north of Mercer St. to Roy St. The Center is at Roy St. and Warren Ave.

By car:

From north or south via I-5:

--get off at Mercer St. exit

--follow signs to Seattle Center

--go down Broad St. tunnel

--take first right onto Harrison

--right at 5th

--left at Roy

--left at Warren (just before Kinko's/Larry's Market)

From south or west Seattle via 99:

--get off at Mercer St. exit

--left at Westlake

--left at Valley

--go down Broad St. tunnel and see above

From downtown Seattle:

--go north on 4th Ave. past Denny Way to Broad St.

--right at Broad St.

--left at 5th

--left at Roy

--left at Warren (just before Kinko's/Larry's Market)

Parking

The Center has a small parking lot. Entrance to the lot is directly across Warren Ave. from the entrance to the underground parking garage at Larry’s Market.
